Hey, Detect Nerdians! It’s been a busy few months, and we’ve got a lot to catch you up on. From murder mysteries to trivia nights, and all the exciting recorded episodes coming your way, here's what's going on:

Murder Mysteries & Trivia Nights

We’ve been having a blast with our interactive murder mystery events and trivia nights. Six-Mile Ordinary has been a great host and we will continue to collab in 2025!

1. “Auroboros: Coils of the Serpent”

Episodes up to Episode 16 are available now, and it’s getting wild. The team is deep into unraveling the mysteries of Auroboros, dealing with political intrigue, magical conundrums, and, of course, dangerous secrets. We’ve just finished wrapping up the first season at Episode 23, so you’ve got some bingeing to do!

2. "Revelation & Ruin" – A Limited Series 

Episodes of our 4-shot miniseries, Revelation & Ruin, are also being released now! Check out episodes 1 & 2 on our YouTube channel. Run by game master Chris Dijak (not his cousin, the wrestler), four misfits stuck in a remote, company-owned, oil-drilling town find themselves unexpectedly supporting a revolution. Cast includes Colter Janssen, Elizabeth Keach, Douglas Miller, and Jay Sparks.

3. "The Resurrection of Archibald Grey" – A Call of Cthulhu Miniseries

Set to air late-February, this one’s a clean sneak! It’s 1924 and Doctor Archibald Grey is hosting a dinner party for our players, one to exhibit the scintillating science he has been experimenting with. As the unexpected unfolds, and the clues unravel something much larger than any could have anticipated, our inadvertent investigators find the mysteries get darker by the second. Hedge mazes, mad scientists, and Queen Elizabeth! What more could you ask for?! 

Anna Grey debuts as Keeper, managing a table of players: Chris Dijak, Isolde Finney, Joey Gilmore, Elizabeth Keach, and Douglas Miller.

4. "Doug’s Home Game" – Our First Audio-Only Podcast

The first six banked episodes of Doug’s Home Game begin airing in March! In our casual home-game-turned-podcast, game manager Doug Miller sets players Chris Dijak, Anna Grey, and Elizabeth Keach on a travelogue of adventure through a strange frontier land of animal people, giant plums, and ancient secrets. Two survivors from the end of the world drop out of the sky in front of a servant of the God of Messages, as they begin their journey eastward to deliver urgent news to the Emperor.

What’s in the Works for 2025?

1. "Lair of the Spider Lord: An Astromythos Adventure”

Set to start recording early next year, Detect Nerd brings you a brand new, actual-play sci-fi horror adventure in collaboration with award-winning illustrator and author, Jon Sideriadis. Lair of the Spider Lord is a TTRPG module Jon created stemming from his greater work, a world setting called Astromythos. An interview with the creator will be released early next year in preparation for Episode One airing in February. The teaser trailer is available to watch on all our platforms!

Elizabeth Keach will be the Cosmic Wizard of an amazing cast of players: Chris Dijak, Isolde Finney, Anna Grey, and Douglas Miller.

2. "Beneath the Blackening Sky" – A Call of Cthulhu Series

Yes, you read that right! We’ll be back in the studio recording with Keeper Anna Grey, again at the helm of a Call of Cthulhu actual play series. Returning, too, are our illustrious investigators, this time exposing the ever entwining roots of the darkness they thought they laid to rest in upstate New York. Stay tuned for updates on the 2025 drop date.

The cast of players includes Doug Miller, Elizabeth Keach, Chris Dijak, and Isolde Finney. 

3. New Series of Game Nights & Murder Mysteries

In addition to all of the above, we’re also cooking up a new series of game nights and murder mysteries! 

Trivia nights will begin again once a month on Sundays at Six-Mile Ordinary starting in January. We’re hoping to have some fresh game nights scheduled soon! … Jeopardy… Family Feud? A mashup perhaps?

We will be releasing a 2025 calendar of our interactive murder mystery events in January! Expect more interactive fun, more unexpected twists, and even some new faces (and new deaths?!) as we bring you even more ways to play along with us. We can’t spoil too much, but let's just say that the theme of murder and mystery will never be far behind…
